Summer where are you?

The weather has been especially rainy and cloudy lately in Portland, which is not surprising since we aren't even close to our usual 7 days of summer. So it's not surprising that I am wishing for sunny skies and warm weather, so instead I will contemplate my summer wardrobe. I think there will be a lot of layering this summer and I can't wait to get some bright colored shorts and pants.

Blazers

It's not 1985 but the blazer is back, fortunately without shoulder pads, which were never a good idea I don't care what you thought they did for you. I love the idea of a blazer with skinny jeans and a cute tank or with a dress and heels. You can put it with pretty much anything. I am currently in search of the perfect one for me, I haven't found it yet. I am seeing a shopping trip in my future ...... Blazers

Statement Rings

I have a new obsession, Statement rings, also known as Cocktail rings, I can't get enough of them. The wonderful thing about a gorgeous ring is that it will brighten up any outfit, whether you are headed to work or going out for drinks with the girls.

Cocktail rings have been in fashion for years, which is great because if you decide to invest in a more expensive ring you will be able to wear it for years.

But if you aren't looking to spend a lot of cash or you want to use it for something else .. say shoes. Head over to Forever 21, I know what your thinking I'm not a 14 year old and their sizes are seriously messed up, agreed! They have gotten better over the years and they have a really amazing accessory selection and even an entire store dedicated to accessories. If you want to get some fun trendy pieces check them out they have some really fun stuff.

Coloring Block

Coloring block is huge this spring. I have found that people either love it! (me) or hate it! (my friend Mona). I think I have said this before, I love color, so color blocking is right up my alley. I do like it in shoes the best, it's a great way to build an outfit. Maybe putting together colors that you normally wouldn't. If your on the fence about all this color then maybe start out slow, or go for a great pair of shoes with a neutral outfit. Either way get out there this spring and add some color to your wardrobe!

First Podcast

The 2 Geeky Girly Girls had our first podcast, it couldn't have went better. We had a blast filming it. The real question was what do you wear when filming your first ever geektastic video podcast? You want to make an impression but not go crazy. I love love love hats, so I knew I wanted to wear and hat and once the hat was found the outfit came together. If you don't find yourself filming a nerd podcast then this would be perfect for a wine tasting trip or a casual bbq.

Kickball Awesomeness

Mona and I have a kickball team, Kickball you may ask? Are you 10 is another question you're thinking of. It's understandable I mean we live in Portland and there are approximately 5 sunny days a year. But this kickball is different, you get to wear really fun outfits and since were all adults here, drinking is encourage ... errr I mean allowed. So today's look is what I will be wearing for kickball this season, who says Princesses can't get dirty??
